Doug’s political career began in Vermont working for Governor Richard Snelling, U.S. Senator Bob Stafford, Attorney General John Easton and Vermont House Speaker Stephen Morse.

He served as a Regional Field Director for the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC), as Chief of Staff to Congressman Bill Schuette (MI) and on the staff of the House Budget Committee.

Doug organized the Republican members of Congress for George H.W. Bush’s presidential campaign and served as a Bush campaign consultant in New Hampshire.  He directed the Republican National Committee’s digital campaign during the 2008 presidential primary and has managed campaigns for Congress, the U.S. Senate and Governor.

Doug started Doug McAuliffe Strategic Creative LLC, Chatham Light Media LLC a film and production company and Media Placement Technologies.

Under Doug’s direction DMSC has remained a top boutique strategy and creative communications company focused on client relationships, winning strategies and provocative advertising amid the rise of ubiquitous corporate political consulting firms.

Doug’s winning record extends to political environments and cycles that have favored Democrats and includes numerous victories in blue and purple states.

Doug has written about alpine skiing in the South American Andes and the European Alps. He is an accomplished rock-climber having recorded first ascent climbs in Colorado, Vermont and New York and he is a certified boat captain.

Doug resides in Great Falls, Virginia and Chatham, Massachusetts with his wife Ingrid and their children.
